Optical Multiplexer Frequently Asked Questions Solutions Mian Set

The optical transceiver in video surveillance is a transmission device in an optical communication system, and mainly performs photoelectric conversion and transmission functions. It is widely used in telecommunication, power, monitoring, industrial control, video transmission and other functions, and has a wide range of applications in various industries. Often referred to as an optical transceiver refers to an optical transceiver used by a monitoring system to transmit comprehensive information such as video, data, Ethernet, and audio.

Different environments have different requirements for optical transceivers. The following describes how to solve the common problems of optical transceivers.

If the optical transceiver power is normal but does not work, perform the following steps:

A black screen, data and camera control function is normal.

1. Unplug the optical fiber from the optical port. If the screen is no longer black but there is snow, the optical connection may be good.

2. Ensure that the video BNC connection between the optical transceivers is intact.

Second, the monitor screen has snow (noise), data and camera control function is normal. This situation illustrates the problem with the light part. Continue to troubleshoot by following these steps:

1. Remove the optical fiber from the transmitter's optical port and insert an optical fiber jumper.

2. Insert the other end of the jumper into the optical power meter.

(a) If the reading does not match the indicator, there is a problem with the transmitter and it should be replaced.

(b) If the reading meets the specification, proceed to the next step.

3, check the connector. If dirty, wipe it clean with isopropyl alcohol.

4. Connect the original fiber to the transmitter's optical port. At the receiver, perform steps 2 to 3 above. The reading of the optical power meter must at least reach the minimum calibration value of the input energy of the receiver.

(a) If the reading is slightly lower, the fiber may be defective and should be replaced.

(b) If the reading is very low, the optical cable may be damaged and should be replaced.

(c) If the reading is normal, there is a problem with the receiver and it should be replaced.

Third, the video is normal but there is a problem with the camera's control.

1. Before transmitting the PTZ control signal, check the TD (Data Activity) LED indicator on the receiver. When the data is transmitted, the indicator light is on or it flashes following your operation. If this is not the case, and there is no problem with the electrical connection, the receiver may have problems and needs to be replaced.

2. When the control signal of the PTZ is sent to the transmitter at the other end connected to the optical fiber, the RD indicator light is on, or it flashes following your operation, and the electrical connection is correct, but the camera control still cannot If it is working properly, it indicates that there is a problem with the transmitter and it should be replaced. If the RD indicator does not light, there may be a problem with the transmitter or there may be a problem with the receiver.
