Ebara Seiko established the use of new micromachining technology

Japan's Ebara Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Fukushima Prefecture, Nishi-Aizu-cho) announced on September 30, 2009 that a 5-axis control machining center (MC) and a ball head with a radius of 0.05 mm and a blade length of 0.1 mm have been established. End mills, micro-machining technology with a minimum diameter of 0.1mm. The company will rely on this technology to strive to strengthen its global competitiveness in the mold field.
The company is engaged in the design and manufacture of various molds, component processing, and 3D modeling. Among them, it is especially good at the non-discharge/grinding process using a 3-axis control MC and a tool having a diameter of 0.1×blade length of 1.5 mm. If the new technology is realized, it is expected that the process of patterning electric discharge machining and electrode manufacturing will be reduced by more than 50%. This not only shortens the delivery time, improves the accuracy, but also reduces the amount of copper used.
In addition, the development was carried out with the assistance of Makino Milling Machine, Graffic Products (Tokyo) and Union Tool.
