The Fourth Session of the National Standardization Technical Committee for Measuring Instruments (SAC/TC132) was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province from June 11 to 15, 2009. At the meeting, there were 95 members of the 4th National Standardization Technical Committee and the Branch Committee of the National Measuring Instruments. At the end of 2008, all the members of the Technical Committee of the Digital Measuring Instruments Standardization Subcommittee, which was just established at the end of 2008, also attended the meeting. Wang Yu, Director of the Industrial Standards Division of the National Standardization Administration, and Director Tan Xiangning, Director of the Standards Department of the China National Machinery Industry Federation, were invited to speak at the conference and issued a new certificate. Tan Xiangning focused on the innovation of the work of the Standards Committee under the new situation, and how to standardize the work in the implementation of the equipment manufacturing revitalization plan to raise the overall level of standards. It was welcomed by the members of the meeting.
The new director of the National Measuring Instrument Measuring Standards Committee and Director of the Chengdu Tool Research Institute, Wang Luzhou made a written statement, saying that "in the face of the new situation, shouldering the heavy responsibility of the times, I am confident to push the work of the National Measuring Instruments Standardization Committee. A new stage, contributing to the standardization of the measuring instrument industry, will live up to the leadership and the trust of everyone." Deng Ning, secretary-general of the National Standard Measuring Instrument Standardization Committee, informed the current change and composition plan, and explained the revision of the charter of the national measuring instrument. The meeting unanimously adopted the new charter of the Standards Committee.
According to the arrangement of the agenda, the meeting reviewed the review drafts of 11 national and industry standards, such as the Gear Involute Model, which should be completed this year, and reached a consensus review opinion. In accordance with the agenda of the meeting, the participating committee members and delegates also reviewed 23 national standards and 35 industry standards issued in 2003 and 2004, and reached a consensus review conclusion.
