SunEdison Sells 30MW Webberville Solar PV Plant

MetLife and Longsol Holdings USA recently announced that they had purchased SunEdison's 30MW Texas solar PV project Webberville in December 2011. The price has not yet been disclosed. The PV project was launched in December 2011 and is said to be the largest active solar PV installation in Texas. The solar farm is built by RESAmericas and they will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the project within the next five years. In 25 years, the plant is expected to generate 1.4 billion kWh of electricity.



After five years of RESAmerica's operational and maintenance commitments, SunEdison will be responsible for continuing to operate and maintain the solar farm for the next 20 years. The two companies stated that the utility level project passed a 25-year power purchase agreement with Austin Energy, which will purchase electricity from the project at a fixed price for the life of the equipment and gain environmental benefits.
