According to the Aluminum Association, in the first quarter of this year, the shipment of aluminum rolled products increased by 6.8% to 3.116 billion pounds from 2.919 billion pounds in the same period last year.

In the detailed classification of aluminum rolled products in the United States and Canada, the association pointed out that the demand for aluminum sheets and aluminum sheets increased by 3.6% to 657.5 million pounds compared with 651.7 million pounds in the same period of last year, a jump of 12.9% from the 5.979 billion pounds in February. .

Shipment volume of extruded products in March increased by 5.4% from the 234.2 million pounds in the same period last year to 246.8 million pounds, a 9.9% increase from the 224.5 million pounds in February.

According to the report, the shipments of aluminum ingots used for casting and other purposes in March increased by 13.5% from the 530 million pounds in the same period last year to 602.2 million pounds. Shipments of aluminum ingots for casting increased by 6.2% from the 567.1 million pounds in February.

The association also said that inventories of U.S. and Canadian manufacturers rose by 9.6 percent to 2.333 billion pounds in March from 2.128 billion pounds in the same period last year, almost unchanged from 2.332 billion pounds in February.

The total shipping volume in January was 1.532 billion pounds, which was higher than 1.413 billion pounds in the same period of last year. The total shipment of aluminum rolled products increased to 1.015 billion pounds, compared with 937 million pounds in the same period last year.

Total aluminum and aluminum shipments increased to 615 million pounds from 592 million pounds in the same period last year.
