The workpiece shown in Figure 1 is often encountered in production. Grooves or raceways are formed in the inner hole or outer circle of such parts, and the diameter d is measured by a universal tool, and the measurement error is large. Before the measurement, according to the diameter of the workpiece, the dial gauge is calibrated with a micrometer or a dedicated pair of gauges. When measuring, swing the gage in the circumferential direction and the axial direction, and pass the reading of the dial gauge.
