Hitachi Tools introduces twice the efficiency of previous arc end mills

Hitachi Tools has introduced the "Epoch Deep Radius F", an arc end mill that can process molds with high efficiency and high precision. The end mill has 4 blades, which makes the efficiency more than twice the original tool. The accuracy of the rounded corner R is within ±0.005 mm based on the tool axis. There are 103 kinds of products with a blade diameter of 2 to 6 mm, and the price is 6980 to 24,000 yen (including tax).
By working on the shape of the end tooth chip flutes, the discharge and rigidity of the chips are improved, and the work efficiency in deep carving processing is improved. Further, in the model having a blade diameter of 3 mm or less, the outer peripheral blade is prevented from coming into contact with the workpiece, and deformation in the deep portion is suppressed. The bottom edge is equipped with a slight angle. A tool with a long shank is prone to vibration, and the tool can reduce vibration. Therefore, when machining a bottom surface such as a deep groove, a uniform machined surface can be obtained.
Previously, ball milling cutters were used for three-dimensional machining of molds. However, in a tool with a small diameter and a long drill shank, the arc end mill can achieve stable machining. Therefore, Hitachi Tools has improved the machining efficiency and accuracy of the arc end mill. The aim is to use a circular end mill in this field.
