Recently, the team of Han Keli, a researcher of the reaction kinetics group of complex molecular systems at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has made new progress in the study of the kinetic mechanism of all-inorganic non-lead zero-dimensional perovskite. Through the doping strategy, the team greatly improved the fluorescence quantum yield of non-lead zero-dimensional indium-based perovskite, exhibited excellent stability, and discussed its luminescence dynamics mechanism in detail.
The all-inorganic non-lead zero-dimensional perovskite has attracted wide attention because of its non-toxic, peculiar electronic structure and good photoelectric performance. Previous studies have focused on the stability of all-inorganic non-lead zero-dimensional perovskite, but because of its fluorescence quantum yield is still very low compared to organic-inorganic hybrid zero-dimensional perovskite, unable to meet the next generation of light-emitting or display devices demand. Therefore, it is of great significance to synthesize highly efficient and stable all-inorganic non-lead zero-dimensional perovskite and explore its luminescence kinetic mechanism.
The team successfully synthesized antimony-doped all-inorganic direct bandgap zero-dimensional indium-based perovskite A2InCl5 (H2O): Sb (A = Rb, Cs) and zero-dimensional indium-based perovskite without coordination water A3InCl6: Sb (A = Rb, Cs). The former exhibits yellow fluorescence, while the latter exhibits green fluorescence. By doping antimony ions, the exciton absorption of the above materials can be enhanced and the fluorescence quantum yield can be increased from less than 2% to 85% to 95%. And Rb3InCl6: Sb exhibits excellent air stability and thermal stability. In addition, the team systematically studied the effects of A-site cations and coordination water on fluorescence performance and stability, and discussed in detail the ultrafast exciton kinetic mechanism. This work provides a new and feasible way for rational design of efficient and stable zero-dimensional perovskite materials.
