On June 5, it was learned from the Wuhan Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau that the environmental impact report of the western kitchen waste disposal plant in Hankou had been approved by the Bureau, which meant that the city would build the first restaurant-kitchen garbage centralized treatment plant.
The project is located west of Huian Avenue, Xingou Town Street, Dongxihu District, north of Fangxin Road, with a total investment of approximately RMB 95.98 million. The project adopts pretreatment, wet anaerobic fermentation, energy utilization of biomass gas, and residue fertilizer production technology. It can process 200 tons of restaurant garbage daily after completion. This will help prevent "drainage oil" from flowing back to the dining table, turning waste into treasure, using the kitchen waste to produce fertilizer, and biogas power generation.
It is reported that during the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, Wuhan will build 5 kitchen waste processing plants, which can centralize more than 60% of the restaurant's kitchen waste.
