Safety performance advantages of aluminum alloy cables over other cables

Aluminum alloy cable has been developed and used in the United States since 1968 for 43 years. The use of this product is quite common, with a market share of 80% in North American countries. In the past 43 years, the use of aluminum alloy cables has never failed, and it has been proved that his use is very safe.

Testing and certification

The aluminum alloy cable passes the UL of the United States, the CUL of Canada, the SAI GLOBAI international authority of Australia and the China National Cable and Wire Testing Center, the State Grid Wuhan High Voltage Research Institute, the National Fireproof Building Materials Quality Supervision and Inspection Center and other authoritative institutions for testing and certification. The aluminum alloy conductor complies with the requirements of CSA Standard C22.2 Clause 38 for ACM alloy wires, and the performance requirements of the latest editions of GB12706.1--2008 and IEC60502.1, as well as UL's standards for the AA8000 series.

Aluminum alloy composition

The addition of rare earth and iron components to the aluminum alloy conductor component greatly improves its electrical conductivity and joint properties. Especially when the conductor is annealed, the addition of iron produces high-strength creep resistance. When the current is overloaded, the iron continues to play. The connection acts so that the aluminum alloy conductor does not creep.

Creep is extremely harmful to the cable. If the cable creeps, the contact pressure is not tight enough. The pressure is reduced, so that the contact resistance increases rapidly. If the current flows, the joint will be overheated. If it is not regularly repaired, there will be safety hazards. . It is very important to solve the cable creep problem.

Creep: Under the action of temperature, external force and self-weight, metal will slowly produce irreversible permanent deformation with time. This phenomenon is creep.

Flame retardant performance

The insulating material of aluminum alloy cable is made of flame retardant silane cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE). The self-locking armor structure is adopted in the process. The heat dissipation performance is far superior to that of PVC material, which can quickly dissipate heat. After the flame disappears, the flame can be quickly extinguished. It does not extend other materials and has excellent flame retardant properties. Aluminum alloy cables use new materials and processes to ensure safer use.
