Due to the unfavorable situation in the electronics industry, Nongkenshe selected some young people to study lock-making techniques in Ningbo. In the same year, with the approval of the Provincial Second Light Industry Department, Zhengzhai Farming Machinery Co., Ltd. changed its name to Pujiang County Lock Factory. The factory site was in Shangzheng Village. At that time, it produced 20,000 padlocks and increased to 220,000 the following year. Some companies processed accessories for them.

Because the "red light card" iron padlock produced by the lock factory in Pujiang County is of stable quality and moderate price, it has become the civilian iron lock point manufacturer in the Second Light Industry Department of the province. After continuous exploration and practice, the Pujiang County Lock Factory has developed from a simple production of iron padlocks to production of long box locks, chain locks, copper padlocks, security locks, and drawer locks. The scale of the company has gradually expanded. In 1985, the production of padlocks reached 15.9 million.

After 1986, Pujiang Lock Factory successively joined six factories including semiconductor factories, horse iron plants, textile machinery factories, and general factories, and merged Huaqiao Thermal Power Plant. In 1987, the Pujiang County Lock Factory was renamed the Pujiang County Lock-making Plant. Through continuous deepening of reforms, the system has achieved unprecedented development. Through technological transformation and enhanced management, the system has reached 16 varieties and 54 varieties in 1994. The specifications include the three major brands of “Tang Lamp”, “Golden Gate” and “R”. The annual output is 33.27 million pieces, and the output value is 71.24 million Yuan. There are 866 employees. Products are sold to 30 provinces, cities, autonomous regions and Southeast Asia, the United States, Italy, more than 20 countries and regions. With the changes in the market, the lock-making factory established the Sanhuan Lockheel Group Pujiang Co., Ltd. and developed a one-stop system for the production, supply and distribution of the joint venture factories and directly-affiliated factories throughout the county, cultivating a large number of technical and managerial talents. And marketing talent.

With the deepening of reform and opening up, in the late 1980s, many people in Pujiang took advantage of the technological superiority of the lock-making factory to start processing padlock parts and started a family workshop-style lock factory. After 1995, the Pujiang lock industry started its second venture. The enterprises went further in scale, grade, and level, and a group of key enterprises with a certain scale such as Meihua, Zhongtang and Jinlei emerged. In 1998, in order to promote the healthy development of the Pujiang lock industry, Pujiang established a padlock industry association.

After more than 30 years of development, the padlock industry in Pujiang has continuously grown and become the largest padlock production and processing base, product distribution center and export base. "China Padlock Center" and "China Padlock Production Base" have become one of the golden business cards displayed by Pujiang.

Now, the Pujiang lock industry has developed from a single padlock product to more than 300 specifications including drawer locks, anti-theft locks, motorcycle locks, and door locks, and has formed processes from parts production, surface treatment, packaging materials, and product lock assembly. The industrial chain of the link has also led to the development of related industries such as electroplating, printing, supply of raw and auxiliary materials, logistics, etc. Pujiang has developed a reputation for lock making, and Pujiang people have made a small padlock into a large industry.
