Knowledge of building materials: How to identify teak flooring in natural forest and plantation

Teak is rich in iron and oil, beautiful ink lines, gorgeous oil shadows constitute its unique natural texture, with a unique natural mellow, and can stand the polishing of the rings, timeless, with the years The golden color gradually became more beautiful. Because of these excellent characteristics, valuable timber teak is the preferred material for luxury palaces, luxury villas, luxury cruise ships, luxury yachts and luxury car interiors all over the world. Teak flooring is also known as the "kingless king" of the floor, and has a reputation of "not being corrupted for thousands of years". It has become the protagonist of the high-end property flooring market, and is favored by the rich class!

With the increasing demand of the teak market year by year, precious natural timber, which is a resource product and grows extremely slowly, is becoming more and more valuable in the natural teak wood, and the prices are rising year by year. In the late 1980s, the market price of natural teak wood in Myanmar increased by 10% to 15% each year. It is because of the high economic value of teak that teak plantation has also become a hot spot for investment in the world. In recent years, the teak imported from Thailand has mostly been planted with teak, and southern China's Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Fujian and other places also began to plant teak forests earlier. It is not difficult to understand the increasing shortage of teak resources in natural forests. The market has a lot of teak floors to sell, and the reasons for the different prices.

The quality of the teak flooring made from natural forests and plantations is very different. The natural forest teak has been grown to mature for at least 50 years, with a slow growing period. Its density and hardness are high and it is not easy to wear. The artificial teak, also known as fast-growing forest, mainly promotes rapid teak growth and shortens the growth cycle through artificial technology. In general, it can be matured in more than 10 years, and it is started in the 6th year of planting.

Due to the differences in the environment, climate and soil of plantation teak growth, the growth cycle is greatly shortened, and the unique oily character of teakwood is poor, and the mineral line is not or very inconspicuous. Such materials are more shrinkable, easily deformed and not resistant to corrosion; Wood fiber is coarse, density and hardness are poor, so it is greatly discounted in terms of stability and toughness. There is almost no teak aroma.

According to the experience of professionals, we provide consumers with simple ways to distinguish between natural forest teak and plantation teak.

First, look at textures. Natural forest teak floors have obvious ink lines and oil spots, and the longer the tree age, the more obvious; the artificial forest teak wood floor has no or very indistinct mineral lines.

Second, look at the texture. The natural forest teak grows slowly, the wood fiber structure is dense, the density and hardness are higher, and the specific gravity is higher. The artificial teak has thick teak fibers, loose density and light weight.

Third, look at oiliness. Natural forest teak is rich in oily and irony. It feels slippery and smooth. It feels very delicate. It seems to be soaked in oil. This kind of iron and oil makes it not deformed. It is resistant to insects, ants, and acid and alkali. Moisture resistance, corrosion resistance; and artificial forest teak oil, less shrinkage, easy deformation, and corrosion resistance.

Fourth, smell the smell. The natural forest teak has a light mellow taste, and the artificial forest teak has almost no teak aroma.
