"International Conference on High Speed ​​Machining (HSM Conference)" is an international academic conference initiated by Professor H. Schulz of the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany (known as the father of high-speed cutting in the industry) since the end of the last century. Since its inception in Germany for the first time, it has been held in Europe for 11 consecutive years and has become the top academic conference in the field of high-speed processing in Europe and the world. The 12th High Speed ​​Processing Conference was hosted by Nanjing Aerospace University and was successfully held at the Zhongshan Hotel in Nanjing from October 18th to 20th, 2015.
“This is the first time that HSM Conference has come to China to provide an extensive and in-depth exchange opportunity with experts and scholars in the field of high-speed machining in China for the top experts and scholars abroad. Under the 'Made in China 2025' development plan The metal processing and manufacturing, improving the knowledge and skills of high-speed processing has a positive promotion significance." There were more than 250 participants in the conference. The participants were from 10 countries including Germany, France, Czech Republic, Spain, Hungary, Sweden, Austria, Singapore, Malaysia and China.

Professor Xuan Yimin, Vice President of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Professor Abele, Director of the PTW Institute of Damm University of Technology, respectively, delivered an opening speech for the meeting. The conference received 114 abstracts, 87 articles, 8 keynotes, and 8 topic reports. The conference focused on high-speed machining, high-speed machining mechanism, CNC high-speed cutting machine tools, cutting tools, cutting process modeling, simulation, optimization, monitoring, high-speed machining of difficult-to-machine materials, precision and micro-cutting, environmentally friendly machine tools and processing technologies, etc. The content is discussed, the latest technology is displayed, and research results are exchanged.

The conference set up the “2015 Aerospace High-speed Processing Innovation Technology Forum†for application companies and research institutes, focusing on high-speed machining solutions and cutting-edge technologies in practical applications, and will be the most representative equipment and solution provider in the world. Research on aerospace manufacturing companies and university projects is united. Under the auspices of Zhao Changxi, chief craftsman of Aerospace Science and Technology Beijing Satellite Manufacturing Plant, Demagisin Seiko, Seco Tools, HEIDENHAIN, OPENMIND, Dalkon, GF Machining Solutions, Kennametal Metals, and Constant Wheel Machine Tools were respectively held at the company's venue.
