Chinese scientists have developed a "nano-sponge repair agent" that can repair diesel pollution

In the process of mining and transportation of diesel oil, it is inevitable that there will be a lot of leakage into the water and soil, causing environmental pollution. Recently, the research group of Wu Zhengyan, the Institute of Technology and Biology, Hefei Institute of Material Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has made progress in remediation of diesel pollution. They have developed a new nano-remediation agent that can efficiently remove diesel in water and soil. The international environmental research academic journal "Overall Environmental Science" has published a related paper on this result.

It is understood that diesel contains aromatic hydrocarbons that are more difficult to degrade, which will affect the growth of aquatic organisms and farm crops. Diesel pollution remediation is also one of the current research hotspots and difficulties in the environmental field. Traditional diesel adsorbent synthesis steps are complex and costly, making it difficult to apply on a large scale. It is necessary to develop a high-efficiency diesel adsorbent with a simple process.

Recently, Wu Zhengyan's research group has prepared a new type of hydrophobic nanosponge based on nanosponges, modified with amino silicone oil and silane coupling agent. Experiments show that this hydrophobic nano-sponge, as a repair agent, can efficiently remove diesel oil leaking into water and soil, has stable performance and simple preparation process, and has wide application prospects.
